1. How to determine whether the type-c port of the computer is a full-featured type-c.
Find the product parameter introduction on the official website of the brand corresponding to the device. As shown in the figure below, the type-c port of the device may have 6 situations:
① Only supports charging;
② Only supports data transmission;
③ Only supports charging and data transmission;
④ The device has two type-c ports, one full-featured type-c and one non-full-featured type-c;
⑤ Two full-function USB-C (support data transmission, video output, charging);
⑥Thunderbolt3 is also a full-featured type-c; only when the docking station is connected to the full-featured type-c of the device can the charging, data transmission, and video output functions be used at the same time, otherwise only some functions are supported.
2. When the device is connected to the docking station and external monitor, there is no sound.
When a tablet or Huawei mobile phone (such as Huawei MATE30) is connected to the external display of the docking station, the audio and video are transmitted to the display device by default. When the display device is connected through an HDMI cable and the display device has a speaker, the display device outputs audio (VGA cannot be transmitted Audio), the monitor cannot output audio when it does not have speakers. The laptop can set the default playback device and choose the phone to output audio or the monitor to output audio.
3. After connecting the laptop to the docking station for charging, the network port or USB port or HDMI/VGA cannot be used normally.
Some devices may have compatibility issues with some functions. You can try the following operations.
① First remove the type-c docking station from the laptop;
② Remove all external devices connected to the docking station;
③ Connect the type-c docking station to the laptop;
④ Connect the PD charger to the PD charging port of the type-c docking station;
⑤ Connect devices with other interfaces and follow the normal operation to solve other functional incompatibility issues in PD power supply.
4. When the device is connected to the docking station and external monitor/TV, there is no picture.
① Make sure the type-c interface of the device supports video function;
② Select the correct signal source on the monitor/TV (select the corresponding signal source whichever video port it is connected to);
③ If it is a mobile phone connection, after the mobile phone is connected, select MIDI in the USB connection method that pops up on the mobile phone;
④ Plug and unplug the HDMI cable;
⑤ Restart the device;
⑥ If it still cannot be used, it is recommended to replace the device or test the HDMI cable.
5. The external mobile hard disk cannot be used when the laptop is connected to the docking station.
The mobile hard disk consumes a lot of power. If the device cannot recognize the mobile hard disk normally, it needs to be connected to the PD for power supply. Test step by step as follows:
① First remove the type-c docking station from the laptop;
② Remove all external devices connected to the docking station;
③ Connect the type-c docking station to the laptop;
④ Connect the PD charger to the PD charging port of the type-c docking station;
⑤ Then connect the mobile hard disk. Pressing the appeal button normally can solve the problem that the mobile hard disk cannot be recognized. If it still cannot be used normally, it is recommended to replace the device or test the mobile hard disk.
