Classification of M.2 SSDs
M.2 SSDs are available in 2230, 2242, 2260, 2280, and 22110 sizes. Generally speaking, the longer the M.2 solid-state drive is, the more flash memory particles can be placed and the greater the capacity.
Depending on the interface, M.2 solid-state drives have three types: B key, M key and B&M key. Among them, B key has been eliminated, M key is mostly NVMe high-speed disk, and B&M key is mostly SATA low-speed disk.
According to different protocols, M.2 solid-state drives are divided into SATA models and NVMe models. Among them, NVMe M.2 solid-state drives use the PCI-E channel. They are smaller and faster than ordinary 2.5/3.5-inch mechanical or solid-state drives. They are very attractive to geeks and DIY enthusiasts. !
