The cascaded 8-port KVM design mainly includes the following parts:
1. Source signal port: including Video signal (VGA) interface, USB keyboard interface, USB mouse interface; or as a cascade port for upward connection;
2. Signal switching port: Provides 8 channel interfaces for switching, transferring out Video signals and USB signals;
3. Downstream connection port: used to connect to the next-level switcher to achieve more channel switching functions;
4. DIP configurator: Set the function mode of the current switch: single/cascade; switch hot key selection;
5. Indicator light/nixie tube: working status indication, channel status indication;
6. Control keyboard: manual switch.
This KVM switch uses CH9350 to convert the USB signals of USB mouse and keyboard devices into serial port data signals, and combines them with the VGA signal of the video for synchronous switching. A single switcher can realize 8 switching channels. If you need more switching channels, you can configure the switcher in cascade mode and connect the cascade port of the switcher to the source signal port of the next-level switcher through a dedicated cable. This solution supports configurable keyboard hotkey switching and physical key switching, dynamically retrieves effective switching channels, and provides status indication.
