DisplayPort is a digital display interface standard designed to replace traditional ana-log and digital interfaces such as DVI, VGA and LVDS. It was developed by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) and was first launched in 2006. It has now become one of the main interfaces for PCs, laptops and high-performance monitors.
The DisplayPort interface is a digital display interface that transmits audio, video, and other forms of data from a computer or other device to a display. It uses a small connector that allows for higher bandwidth and faster data transfer speeds, as well as higher image quality and resolution.

There are four major versions of DisplayPort: version 1.0, version 1.1, version 1.2, and version 1.4. Each version adds new features and improvements, including higher bandwidth and resolution support, better audio and video transmission quality, and more.
The DisplayPort interface has many technical specifications, including bandwidth, resolution, audio and video formats, etc. The latest version 1.4 supports 8K resolution and HDR display, with a refresh rate of up to 60 frames per second. In addition, DisplayPort also supports some other technical specifications such as DPCP (DisplayPort Content Protection) and MST (Multi-Stream Transport) to provide better security and multi-monitor management options.
The DisplayPort interface has many advantages, such as:
High bandwidth: DisplayPort provides up to 32.4 Gbps of bandwidth, which is faster than other digital interfaces such as HDMI and DVI.
High resolution: DisplayPort supports up to 8K resolution and HDR (high dynamic range) display, which can present clearer and more realistic images and videos on the big screen.
Multi-stream technology: DisplayPort supports multiple displays to be connected to the same computer or device, thereby enabling multi-tasking and workflow management.
Flexibility: DisplayPort connectors are compact in design, can be quickly switched between various devices, and can be used for different types of signal transmission, such as audio, video, and data.
