PCI expansion ROM solution

Extended ROM has two main applications in computers: one is as an electronic disk, which stores boot programs and micro-operating systems and applications to achieve industrial control without a hard disk or operating system; the other is as a boot device , which stores the boot program. During the computer boot process, it controls the computer before the operating system. Specific applications include hard disk data restoration card, hard disk data protection card, WINDOWS terminal card, multi-machine network management card, firewall, hard disk And network security isolation card, multi-user PC management card, etc.
The CH36x series of chips all support extended ROM applications. Among them, CH362 and CH365 are upgraded products of CH361. CH362 removes some components such as the interrupt function of CH365, but has made technical optimization and batch cost optimization for extended ROM applications. CH36x does not require other components at all, it can directly support EPROM, EEPROM, Flash Memory, etc., and supports online flash programming and upgrades. The capacity of ROM can be 32KB, 64KB, 128KB, 256KB or even 512K. If an external address latch is connected, the capacity has no upper limit, and CH362 can support large-capacity expansion ROM with a dedicated expansion method. In PCs with very limited upper memory space , only needs to occupy 32KB or even 8KB of upper memory. In addition, it also provides a Flash-ROM flash memory solution based on CH364 that supports online rewriting of programs and an OTP solution based on CH362+OTP one-time burning program.
If the expansion ROM is designed with an ordinary network card chip, it will be easily affected by the LAN or Network network boot items in CMOS or the LAN boot first and Boot from Network options, causing the expansion ROM to not work properly on some motherboards. In addition, configuration chips such as 93C46, which are necessary for ordinary network card chips, not only increase the hardware cost, but are also easily rewritten by humans or accidents, causing permanent failure of the expansion ROM.
