How to Solve the DisplayLink Black Screen Issue on 11th Gen Intel CPUs

It has come to our attention that customers with 11th Gen Intel (TigerLake) CPUs are experiencing black screen issues on external monitors when using DisplayLink software and Intel Graphics Driver version 27.20.100.9466.
For the DisplayLink black screen issue on 11th generation Intel CPUs, you can try the following solutions:
  1. Update the graphics driver:
Visit the official website of Intel or the official website of the device manufacturer to download and install the latest graphics driver. Especially for graphics driver updates for 11th generation Core processors, these updates usually contain fixes for black screen issues.
For example, Intel once released the 30.0.100.9894 beta graphics driver, which specifically fixed multiple black screen issues for the Xe graphics card of the 11th generation Core.
  2. Check the DisplayLink driver:
Make sure your DisplayLink driver is the latest version. DisplayLink is a technology that allows external displays to be connected via USB, and the latest driver may contain a fix for the black screen issue.
Visit the official DisplayLink website to download and install the latest driver for your operating system and hardware.
  3. Check the hardware connection:
Make sure the display cable is firmly and securely plugged into the host interface, and the DisplayLink adapter is firmly connected to the USB port.
Check whether the contact between the graphics card and the motherboard I/O slot is good, and reseat the graphics card if necessary.
  4. Adjust system settings:
Lower the hardware acceleration setting to reduce the pressure on the graphics card. In the Windows Control Panel, select "Display", then select the "Troubleshooting" tab, and drag the slider under "Hardware Acceleration" to a position close to "None".
Check the DirectX function to make sure that the graphics card supports 3D acceleration. If the graphics card does not support it, you can disable 3D acceleration in the DirectX Diagnostic Tool.
  5. Try other solutions:
Try to restore the system to a previous stable state to see if the problem is solved.
Check the heat dissipation of the laptop to ensure that the black screen is not caused by overheating.
If none of the above methods work, you may need to use a hardware detection tool to check for faults, or consider reinstalling the system, or even seeking professional repair services.
Please note that the above solutions may vary depending on the specific situation. If the problem persists, it is recommended to contact the device manufacturer or professional technical support team for more detailed help and guidance.
