Q1: Does this docking station require driver installation?
A1: No. It is fully plug-and-play using the operating system's native USB HUB drivers — ideal for IT-managed fleet deployment with zero maintenance overhead.
Q2: Can both HDMI ports output 4K@60Hz simultaneously?
A2: Yes, on Windows hosts supporting DP Alt Mode 1.4 MST, both HDMI ports can simultaneously output 3840×2160 @ 60Hz. On DP 1.2 hosts, dual output is limited to 2560×1440 @ 60Hz, or a single display at 4K@30Hz.
Q3: Does macOS support dual-display extended mode?
A3: macOS only supports SST mode, meaning the two HDMI ports will either mirror the same image or extend one external display. This is a macOS system-level limitation for USB-C docks, not a product limitation.
Q4: Can the PD port and the data USB-C port be used interchangeably?
A4: No. The two Type-C downstream ports have distinct, fixed functions: port ② is dedicated to PD charging input only (no data transfer), and port ⑦ is dedicated to USB 3.0 data transfer only (no power input). Please refer to the port markings for correct usage.
Q5: What is the maximum passthrough charging wattage?
A5: The dedicated PD input accepts up to 100W. After internal consumption by the dock, up to 81W is delivered to the host — sufficient for most business ultrabooks and MacBook Pro 13"/14" models.
Q6: Can the USB ports power external hard drives?
A6: USB-A ports provide 5V/0.9A and the USB-C data port provides 5V/1A, compliant with USB 3.0 standards. This supports USB flash drives, 2.5" portable HDDs, wireless peripherals, and other standard-power devices. For high-draw NVMe M.2 enclosures, we recommend connecting the PD power input first before attaching the storage device.
Q7: Why must PD power be connected before using high-power devices?
A7: When all ports are fully loaded or connected to high-power USB peripherals, PD power must be connected first, otherwise device recognition failures, screen flickering, or display output issues may occur. This is typical behavior for bus-powered docking stations.
Q8: Does it support smartphone/tablet display output?
A8: Yes, provided the device supports DP Alt Mode (e.g., Sam-sung DeX, Huawei Desktop Mode, select Android flagships, iPad Pro/Air with USB-C).
Q9: Do you offer bulk procurement and OEM/ODM services?
A9: Yes. We support B2B bulk orders and OEM/ODM customization (logo printing, custom packaging, cable length customization, etc.). Contact our sales team for enterprise pricing.
Q10: What is the warranty coverage?
A10: Standard 12-month warranty. Extended warranty options are available for B2B bulk orders per contract terms.
