Meta released a press release today (August 16) to release the Quest HDMI Link app for Quest 2, Quest 3, and Quest Pro headsets, which can cast content from smartphones, tablets, and computers via wired screens.
Meta said that any device that supports HDMI and DisplayPort output can cast content to the Quest headset through the Quest HDMI Link app.
Officials said that users can use this wired screen projection solution to run games and watch videos at up to 1080P resolution with almost zero latency.
Quest HDMI Link software also requires additional hardware, including a UVC and UAC-compatible capture card and USB 3.0 cable. Purplelec new HDMI capture card VS068 meets this condition, achieving 1080P60HZ capture and 4K30HZ loop-out.
