It is equipped with one upstream and two downstream Thunderbolt 4 ports, with data transmission speeds of up to 40Gbps, and supports up to 8K screen output, and only one port can meet diverse transmission needs.
Thunderbolt's unique and powerful Daisy Chain function is a highlight of DS018R. This function redefines the device connection method, and can connect multiple Thunderbolt devices in series, easily coping with NAS with large-scale file storage, independent external graphics cards, and external screen displays. Work requirements, provide users with excellent external flexibility and expandability, and ensure efficient and stable transmission between devices.
In terms of interface configuration, DS018R has 3 Thunderbolt 4 ports. One of them is an upstream port for connecting a laptop and providing 85W PD charging, and the other two Thunderbolt 4 downstream ports have the most powerful transmission specifications under the current USB-C interface, and perform well in transmission (40Gbps), image (8K@30) and PD power supply (15W), and are very comprehensive in functions.
Not only that, DS018R also provides UHS-II specification SD and Micro SD card slots, and common USB3.2 Gen2 and Gen1 data interfaces are also readily available, allowing users to easily transfer files, back up photos and videos. At the same time, it has an HDMI interface with HDMI 2.0 specifications, which also supports display output up to 8K@30.
In terms of network connection, DS018R is equipped with a faster 2.5GbE Ethernet, using Realtek's high-spec 8156B RJ45 Ethernet chip, which can transmit data up to 2.5 times that of ordinary networks, providing fast and stable network connection, and is backward compatible with 10/100/1000 Mbps network speed.
In terms of display performance, DS018R uses Intel chips, and both USB-C and DP ports can output 8K@30 ultra-high-definition images. Its rich USB interface configuration includes two USB-C ThunderBolt 4 (40Gbps, DP1.4, 15W power supply), one USB-C 3.2 (10Gbps, 20W fast charging) and 5 USB-A (10Gbps x 3 + 480 Mbps x 2) data ports, a total of 5 USB ports, fully meeting users' various USB expansion needs from data transmission, fast charging and power supply to screen output.
In addition, DS018R is also equipped with an ultra-fast SD4.0/UHS-II card reader, which is 3 times faster than ordinary card readers, up to 312MB/s, and supports Dual-LUN function, allowing two cards to read and write to each other at the same time.
In terms of heat dissipation design, the DS018R body uses fin-type aluminum shells on both sides, which greatly increases the heat dissipation area. After combining with the main body, heat dissipation holes are formed, which are conducive to gas flow and achieve efficient heat dissipation.
