Hardware company OWC launches computer accessory Thunderbolt Hub

Hardware company OWC has announced a new computing accessory simply called the OWC Thunderbolt Hub. As the name suggests, this model is a USB hub for users with PCs that have Thunderbolt 4 connectivity and need additional ports. With the new hub, users can convert their PC's single Thunderbolt 4 port into one that supports both USB-C and USB-A connectors. It also offers a new architecture that, according to OWC, "reinvents the daisy chain" in a very convenient way.

While USB-C and Thunderbolt 4 are great, this new connectivity option also ushered in an era of ultra-thin laptops with very few ports. If your laptop only has one or two USB-C ports, you may need a hub to use all your accessories, external monitors, and more. The problem is compounded with the Thunderbolt 4 standard (which is still new) and, therefore, the general lack of docks and hubs that support it.
In short, OWC's newly released Thunderbolt Hub will effectively convert a single Thunderbolt 4 port into three ports. Users can connect Thunderbolt and USB-C devices in a wide variety of ways. For example, this might include plugging two external monitors and an external hard drive into the laptop via its single Thunderbolt 4 port.
The OWC Thunderbolt Hub supports the company's ClingOn cable stabilizer and Kensington Nano Security Slot anti-theft features. Likewise, users can customize the hub's LEDs to suit their own needs. As mentioned earlier, the product also offers a unique daisy-chaining experience, allowing users to remove devices from one chain in the lineup without causing the other chains to break.
