Accelerating PC Performance: Dual SSD Strategy Analysis
If you want to significantly increase the running speed of your PC, using two SSDs instead of a single SSD is a wise choice. Here are two strategies for you to consider:
Strategy 1: RAID 0 array achieves a leap in speed
By configuring two SSDs as a RAID 0 array, you can enjoy the amazing effect of the superposition of the read and write speeds of the two, which is especially noticeable in benchmark tests. However, it's worth noting that since modern SSDs are already quite fast by nature, this speed boost may not always be noticeable in day-to-day use.
Strategy 2: Separate operating system and applications/games
A more efficient approach is to dedicate one SSD to the operating system and another to host applications and games. The advantage of this is that it avoids the situation where different processes compete for bandwidth on the same drive. It is especially suitable for professional fields such as video editing and 3D modeling that require high-performance support. By installing the operating system and programs on one SSD, and storing the scratch disk and project files on another SSD, you can further optimize bandwidth usage and reduce latency.
