What is the function of the RJ45 network cable connector plug?
The RJ45 plug, also known as the RJ45 Modular Plug, is used to terminate data cables and realize the connection and change of equipment and patch panel modules. The RJ45 crystal head is required to have good conductive performance; the gold-plated thickness of the three-pronged reed of the contact is 50μm, which meets the Category 5e transmission standard and complies with the T568A and T568B line sequence; it has the functions of preventing loosening, plugging and unplugging, and self-locking.
The RJ45 plug is a standard connector in copper cabling. It and the socket (RJ45 module) form a complete connector unit. The connector composed of these two components is connected between the wires to achieve electrical continuity of the wires. It is also a component of the finished jumper of integrated wiring technology. RJ45 crystal heads are usually connected to both ends of the twisted pair cable. In standard integrated wiring design and installation, this accessory product is usually not listed separately, which means that users are not recommended to complete the connection between the twisted pair and the RJ45 plug by themselves.
RJ45 plugs are divided into two types: unshielded and shielded. The outer periphery of the shielded RJ45 plug is covered with a shielding cladding, and its physical appearance is no different from that of an unshielded plug. There is also an industrial shielded RJ45 plug specially designed for factory environments, which can be used in conjunction with the shielding module.
RJ45 plugs often use a non-slip plug sheath to protect the plug, prevent sliding and facilitate plugging and unplugging. In addition, it has various color options and can provide the same color as the embedded icon to facilitate correct connection.
