The more in-depth application of USB TYPE-C started with USB3.1. This is because starting from USB3.1, USB functions began to become richer.
USB 3.1 basic specifications
The ones marked with SS represent support for PD, and the USB marks with SS and 10 represent support for USB3.1 and PD2.0.
USB TYPE-C features:
1. Full-featured: supports data, audio, video transmission at the same time, and also supports charging function, all concentrated in one transmission line, which can solve the problem of too many transmission lines.
2. Supports forward and reve-rse insertion: The pin position of type C is a mirror design and can support forward and reve-rse insertion. The hardware has a special detection mechanism to determine whether it is inserted forward or reve-rse. This part will be mentioned later. (When you need to charge your phone in the middle of the night, you no longer need to turn on the light to see the direction of the connector!)
3. Bidirectional transmission: Data and power can be transmitted and charged in both directions.
4. Backward compatibility: Compatible with USB type A, micro B and other interfaces through an adapter (dongle).
5. Fast transmission rate: Supports USB 3.1 and can support data transmission up to 10Gbps.
