The difference between Thunderbolt interface and Type-C interface
Thunderbolt interface (Thunderbolt) and Type-C interface (USB Type-C) are both interfaces for data transmission and power supply. Both the Thunderbolt interface and the Type-C interface are used for data transmission and power supply. The Thunderbolt interface has fast transmission speed and powerful functions. The Type-C interface is convenient to use and supports fast charging. It is a new standard interface of USB.
Although Thunderbolt (Thunderbolt) and Type-C (USB Type-C) are both interfaces for data transmission and power supply, there are some important differences between them.
1. Transmission speed: The transmission speed of the Thunderbolt interface is very fast, up to 40Gbps, faster than USB 3.0 and USB 3.1. The maximum transmission speed of the Type-C interface is 10Gbps, which is much slower than the Thunderbolt interface.
2. Function support: Thunderbolt interface supports functions such as high-speed data transmission, video output and power supply, and can connect multiple devices together through Daisy Chain. The Type-C interface also supports functions such as high-speed data transmission, video output, and power supply, but does not support Daisy Chain.
3. Compatibility: Thunderbolt interface is not a universal interface, it can only be used between devices that support Thunderbolt interface. The Type-C interface is a universal interface that can be used between various devices that support the Type-C interface, including smartphones, tablets, laptops, monitors, etc.
4. Interface shape: The plug shape of the Thunderbolt interface is quite special, usually a Mini DisplayPort interface or a USB Type-C interface, but their shapes are different. The plug form of the Type-C interface is a small circular interface, which is different from the traditional USB interface, and also supports reverse insertion.
5. Charging power: The Thunderbolt interface can support a charging power of up to 100W, while the Type-C interface also supports fast charging, but the power is low, and the maximum can only reach about 100W.
Although both the Thunderbolt interface and the Type-C interface are used for data transmission and power supply, there are many differences between them. The Thunderbolt interface has fast transmission speed and powerful functions, but it is not universal enough. The Type-C interface is convenient to use and has good compatibility, but the transmission speed and power have certain limitations.
