What are the advantages of industrial-grade SSD?
What are the advantages of industrial-grade SSD?
1. Fast reading and writing speed:
Industrial-grade SSD uses flash memory as the storage medium, and its reading speed is faster than that of mechanical hard disks.
Solid-state drives do not use magnetic heads, and the seek time is almost zero. The continuous writing speed is very amazing. Most solid-state drive manufacturers will claim that their solid-state drives have a continuous reading and writing speed of more than 500MB/s. In recent years, NVMe solid-state drives can reach around 2000MB/s, or even more than 4000MB/s.
The speed of industrial-grade SSD is not only reflected in continuous reading and writing. Fast random reading and writing speed is its ultimate secret, which is most directly reflected in most daily operations. Related to this is extremely low access time. The seek time of the most common 7200-rpm mechanical hard drive is generally 12-14 milliseconds, while solid-state drives can easily reach 0.1 milliseconds or even lower.
2. Shockproof and drop resistance:
Traditional hard drives are disk-type, and data is stored in disk sectors.
The solid-state drive is made of flash memory particles (i.e. MP3, U disk and other storage media), so there are no mechanical parts inside the industrial-grade SSD solid-state drive, so it will not be affected even when moving at high speed or even with flipping and tilting. to normal use, and can minimize the possibility of data loss in the event of collisions and shocks.
Compared with traditional hard drives, solid-state drives have an absolute advantage.
3. Low power consumption:
The power consumption of industrial-grade SSD is lower than that of traditional hard disk.
4.Noiseless:
The solid-state drive has no mechanical motor or fan, and the noise level during operation is 0 decibels. Flash memory-based SSDs consume less energy and generate less heat during operation (but high-end or large-capacity products will consume more energy). There are no mechanical moving parts inside, there will be no mechanical failure, and there is no fear of collision, impact, or vibration. Because SSDs use flash memory chips with no mechanical parts, they have the characteristics of low heat generation and fast heat dissipation.
5. Large operating temperature range:
A typical hard drive can only operate between 5 and 55 degrees Celsius. Most solid-state drives can operate at -10~70 degrees Celsius. Solid-state drives are smaller and lighter than mechanical hard drives of the same capacity. The interface specifications and definitions, functions and usage of solid-state drives are the same as those of ordinary hard drives, and the product appearance and size are also consistent with ordinary hard drives. The operating temperature range of its chip is very wide (-40~85 degrees Celsius).
6. Lightweight:
Industrial-grade SSD is lighter in weight, 20-30 grams lighter than conventional 1.8-inch hard drives.
