Although the DP interface and the HDMI interface are both digital interfaces, the DP interface can transmit 6 audio and video signals at the same time, while the HDMI interface can only transmit 1 audio and video signal at the same time, so the DP interface is slightly better than the HDMI interface. Because the protocol of the DP interface is different from that of the HDMI interface, a DP to HDMI signal converter is required between the DP output interface and the HDMI display. The function of the converter is to convert the DP data into HDMI high-definition audio and video signal output for the display device of the HDMI interface.
Before we connect the DP device to the HDMI display device, we need to first look at the shape of our DP output interface, confirm whether it is a small DP or a large DP interface, and then buy a DP to HDMI converter of the corresponding interface; here we take the large DP interface to HDMI converter mentioned above as an example, first find the DP output interface of the DP host, insert the DP connector of the DP converter into the DP interface, and then use a standard HDMI cable, insert one end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI interface of the DP converter, and the other end directly into the HDMI interface of the HDMI display, and start it normally and it can be used.
