What are the common interfaces of docking stations?
<1>USB interface
As the most familiar interface to everyone, it is widely used in laptops, desktops, mice, keyboards and other peripherals. Currently, there are three types of USB interfaces: Type-A, Type-B and Type-C.
<2>HDMI interface
Friends who need an external monitor must choose a docking station with an HDMI interface. Generally, there are two protocols: HDMI1.4 (1080P120Hz) and HDMI2.0 (2K144Hz, 4K60Hz). When connecting an external monitor to a laptop, be sure to check the Type-C interface on your laptop. Supported protocols.
There are three main combinations of mainstream notebooks:
a. Full-featured Type-C: USB3.x + DP1.2/1.4 + PD
b. Support Thunderbolt protocol: Thunderbolt 3/4 + USB3.x + DP1.2/1.4 + PD
c. No PD protocol: USB3.x + DP1.2/1.4
<3>Network port
I have to lament the basics of the times. Nowadays, the standard network ports are basically Gigabit network ports. Just be careful not to choose a 100M network port.
<4>SD card slot
Generally, SD card and TF interface exist at the same time, using two protocols, UHS-I (90M/S) and UHS-II (266M/S). Because the market demand is not very high, most of them will use UHS-I.
