The computer display does not light up after installing the HDMI capture card
When debugging and installing the video capture card, the computer display screen may not light up or the host may not work properly after the HDMI capture card is installed. This may be caused by a variety of reasons. The following are some possible reasons and solutions:
1. Check the connection
Confirm that the connection is correct:
Make sure that the HDMI output port of the HDMI capture card is correctly connected to the HDMI input port of the monitor, and the connection is firm and not loose.
Check whether the HDMI cable is damaged. You can try to replace a new HDMI cable for testing.
Check the monitor settings:
Make sure that the monitor is set to the correct input source, that is, HDMI input. Some monitors require manual switching of the input source to display the picture.
2. Check the power supply
Check the monitor power supply:
Confirm that the monitor power cord and power adapter are correctly connected and working properly.
Check whether the power socket has electricity, and try to replace other power sockets for testing.
Check the computer power supply:
Make sure that the computer host has been turned on normally and the power supply fan is rotating normally.
Check whether the power indicator light, hard disk indicator light, etc. of the computer host are lit normally.
3. Check the hardware and driver
Check the capture card installation:
Make sure the HDMI capture card is properly installed on the PCI-E slot of the computer motherboard and the fixing screws are tightened.
Check whether the power cable of the capture card is properly connected to the computer power supply.
Install the driver:
Download and install the corresponding driver from the official website according to the capture card model and operating system version.
After installing the driver, restart the computer to ensure that the driver is loaded correctly.
Check the graphics card settings:
If the computer is equipped with both independent graphics cards and integrated graphics cards, try to set the independent graphics card to be used first in the BIOS.
Check whether the power cable of the graphics card is properly connected to the computer power supply and make sure that the graphics card is properly installed on the motherboard.
4. Other possible problems
Operating system problems:
Try to enter safe mode to see if the monitor can work properly in safe mode.
If the monitor can work properly in safe mode, it may be caused by some settings or drivers in the operating system.
Hardware conflicts:
Check whether there are other hardware conflicts in the computer, such as conflicts between multiple graphics cards.
Try to unplug other unnecessary hardware devices and keep only necessary hardware devices for testing.
BIOS/UEFI settings:
Enter the BIOS/UEFI settings and check whether the display-related settings are correct.
Try to restore the default settings of BIOS/UEFI and restart the computer for testing.
5. Seek professional help
If the above methods cannot solve the problem, it is recommended to contact professional technicians or the customer service support of the capture card manufacturer for further diagnosis and repair. They may need more detailed system information and hardware configuration to provide more specific solutions.
In short, the problem of the computer display not lighting up after the HDMI capture card is installed may involve multiple aspects, which need to be checked and solved one by one. During the troubleshooting process, please be patient and careful to ensure that the root cause of the problem can be accurately found and solved.
